I used Lange Photography for my daughters’ one year pictures. Jamie was very easy to work with, very patient and flexible. She had great ideas and did very unique effects to the pictures. I was very satisfied and felt I received priceless photos of this special event! -Amy
Jamie photographed my 2 very busy girls. She was very patient and enthusiatic with them. While neither child wanted to stay put (being 1 yr. and 3 years old) Jamie was able to get the most adorable and precious pictures of both girls, even one of them together. Jamie took my absolute favorite pictures I’ve even had taken of either child. Thank you, Jamie. -Jenny

Jamie has a very warm personality that puts everyone at ease. She made our session relaxed and fun! -Charity
My session at Lange Photography was very fun. We recently had family pictures taken and with a family of seven it can be a daunting task. Jamie has kids of her own and was very good with everyone from posing to interaction to keeping their attention. I was very excited to get our pictures taken because it had been quite awhile since our last family pictures. I recently saw the proofs and was very pleased. She did a great job, we will go back and I will definitely recommend Lange Photography to anyone! – Jennifer
Jamie Lange Photography has been a wonderful blessing to me and my family! We first used her services for my daughter’s senior pictures and absolutely loved both the experience and the finished pictures! Because of the experience, I contacted her about another daughter’s wedding. Again, more than what we would have expected. She met with us several times, willing to communicate via e-mail, phone calls and personal visits. The finished results were absolutely beautiful and a lifetime of memories for us to cherish. She also took my granddaughter’s 1st birthday pictures along with family photos. Again, a very enjoyable experience. She presented us with so many options and we have beautiful and fun pictures to enjoy. I highly recommend Jamie for any photo needs. She is a loving and caring person who is extremely pleasant and a joy to work with. ~ Teri
I was so impressed with Jamie Lange Photography. My 18 month old is very shy and fussy and she still got some great shots. She is wonderful with children and really knows how to put them at ease and get great shots! We took time out of family vacation to have the kids’ pictures done and it was well worth it. I will definitely have portraits done by Jamie Lange Photography next time we are visiting from California! – Misty Photography Tips for Girl and Guy Seniors
Tips for Everyone
Clothing First of all avoid stripes and plaid! Solids photograph much better! Avoid clothing with large, bold brand names or that has wording on it except for your own school logo. No need to look like your advertising for a clothing brand. Also bring a variety of color and style; all blue tank tops can get boring. Remember, it is best to do one or two outfits that mom will like, and then we can do the stuff YOU like. That being said I want you to be You and want you to bring and wear what makes you feel comfortable.
Some shots are full length and others are close up. Plan outfits from head to toe, in other words don’t forget nice shoes if you are wearing a nice outfit.
Most of the time you will have to change in the car or layer so you can add or drop a piece for a different look.
Clothing Styles Make sure your clothing flatters you. If you think you have large arms, be careful of sleeveless styles, they can make your arms look fuller. Darker colors and long sleeves always photograph the best.
Clothes for black and white Black and white photographs look best with black clothing. The contrast between the skin and black is what makes them so dramatic. So bring some black clothes.
Hair Avoid changing your hairstyle or cutting or bleaching your hair right before your session. Let it be natural. Quick easy hairstyle changes during your session are OK. Bring your hair care tools and products with you if need be. Although the photographer tries to help with hair, it is hard to know what your hair “is supposed to look like”. So make sure you like the look or let the photographer know your preferences.
Props Bring Them! Bring props that help define who you are. Some popular choices are: sports equipment, sports uniforms, music instruments, four wheelers, prom dresses, letter jacket, football jersey, car , pet, cowboy hat, boyfriend/girlfriend… Or anything else that you want to include in your portrait to make it more unique and special!
Complexion I will retouch blemishes, tattoos that you don’t want shown, scars, etc. when asked. The proofs you receive will not be retouched so look at them closely so you can let me know of any changes you want done to your prints.
Weather Let’s face it; we are at the mercy of Mother Nature. If it rains, we simply have to reschedule. Don’t worry about clouds, but rain is a problem. Please call me, if I haven’t called you first, if the weather is questionable.
Glasses Most glasses glare! Some prescriptions more than others. Your best bet is to not wear them in the photo or get a “loaner” set of frames from your optometrist that look similar to yours.
Special Concerns For Girls
Jewelry Best tip here, keep it simple. We want the attention on YOU, not the big shiny jewelry.
Special Considerations for Guys
Shaving Please make sure you are clean shaven. Got a goatee that mom hates, do your casual shots first and bring a razor to shave it off for mom’s shots. Everyone is happy that way. |
